Day 1 Cartagena

Arrive at any time, arrival transfer included. This evening, meet the group and CEO for a welcome meeting and set your intention for the trip ahead. Opt to join the group for a local meal afterwards. Don't forget to see the notice in the lobby (or ask reception) for the official time and place to meet up with the group.

Day 2 Cartagena

Discover the Caribbean charm of Cartagena during a day of activities in the city. Hit the streets of the old town and experience food the way Cartageneros do. Get up close and personal with the real Cartagena, as local vendors fill our bellies with their delicacies and warm our hearts with their hospitality. With a focus on healthy street food, taste exotic fruits such as lulo, granadilla, nispero, papaya and guayabathe. If it's a sweet dessert or savoury snack you crave, this unique foodie experience has it all!
In the evening, enjoy a special venue for the first included yoga session of the trip. Stimulate the senses with an invigorating practice that will awaken the body, and lead to a sense of peace and well-being. Then, opt for a dinner at a local restaurant or take a class and learn the basics of Colombian salsa! Salsa is not just a dance; it is an important part of social life in Latin America.

Day 3 Islas del Rosario

A speedboat adventure of one hour, takes you to the Rosario Islands for the day, part of the San Bernardo Corals National Park. Upon arriving, take part in a beach yoga class before free time to swim or snorkel in the pristine water, or enjoy time for total relaxation. Later, return to Cartagena and opt for a night out on the town.

Day 4 Cartagena/Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona

Travel to our hotel just outside of Tayrona National Park, absorbing the scenery from the convenience of a private vehicle, on a 4 to 5 hour drive. After arriving, take part in a sunset yoga class on the hotel grounds. Soak in the the last rays of the Colombian sun as you move through a series of poses, balancing body, mind and spirit.
Located just outside of Tayrona National Park, on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, Playa Koralia provides a truly blissful complete escapade. Each cabana has a unique design that magically blends with the surrounding environment, in perfect harmony with nature.
A gourmet Chef prepares meals daily that use organic, local produce, including a variety of tropical fruits, vegetables and herbs.
Need to revive? Book a treatment at the renowned spa. Want to mingle? Grab a drink at the beachfront bar. This little slice of paradise has it all.

Day 5 Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona

Head into Tayrona National Park for a hike with a local guide. This is a perfect opportunity to experience nature and learn a little more about the rich, natural diversity of northern Colombia.
Reaching the secluded Cabo San Juan beach, be rewarded with a swim in the crystal clear waters, and savour an included lunch. Enjoy free time on the beach to relax, to stretch or meditate, or opt to continue hiking to El Pueblito.
In the evening, return to the hotel and opt to relax, book a spa treatment or grab a drink at the beachfront bar.
Please note that Tayrona National Park is usually closed during the month of February. The indigenous groups in the area believe that mother nature needs a month of rest, and maintenance to the park is done during this time. If your trip falls in February, you will visit Taironaka Park, to learn more about the local Kogi people and their cultural practices.

Day 6 Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona

Start the day with an invigorating yoga class. Then take a short hike through the coastal jungle to Aluna Springs. Enjoy the flora and fauna of the region as you make your way there, the pool of the Mendihuaca Chief. A crystal clear pool used for ancestral spiritual rites by local Indigenous communities for generations.
Connect with nature as you take a dip in the calm, cool waters, before returning to the hotel. In the evening, enjoy a bonfire on the beach and partake in a ceremony by a local Indigenous elder.

Day 7 Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona/Cartagena

Enjoy one last yoga class this morning before returning to Cartagena. Relax and enjoy the scenery on the return journey. In the evening, opt for a group dinner to reflect on the journey of the past week.

Day 8 Cartagena

Depart at any time.
Optional Activities:
  • Totumo Mud Volcano
El Totumo
Climb up the stairs and descend into the healing mud of the El Totumo Mud Volcano. As your body becomes weightless, lie back and relax in the cool mud. The mud is packed with rejuvenating minerals, so you're bound to come out looking ten years younger. Please bring your own towel, as the hotel will not lend towels for this activity.
  • Playa Blanca Visit
Playa Blanca
Take a boat to the island of Baru and visit idyllic Playa Blanca. Relax on the white sand, go for a swim, or snorkel in the warm water. To refuel head to one of the charming beach shack restaurants.
  • Museum of Modern Art (Museo de Arte Moderno) Visit

Housed in two historic buildings, one a former weapons storehouse, is the collection of the Museo de Arte Moderno de Cartagena. Stroll through the unique space and admire Latin American paintings from the 1950s along with contemporary Colombian art.

It is recommended using a backpack for your convenience, or a medium-sized suitcase if you prefer. A daypack is also essential for carrying everyday items. Space may be limited on transportation, and you must be prepared to carry your luggage sometimes. Just ask us for more specific details if required.

  • Vaccination certificates - YELLOW FEVER: This trip visits Tayrona National Park. Some national parks in Colombia may deny entry to travellers who do not show proof of yellow fever vaccination. It is your responsibility to consult with your travel doctor for up to date medical travel information well before departure.
  • VISAS - Upon entering Colombia, officials will issue you a “platinum card” (tiquete platinum). You must keep this card and show it upon leaving Colombia.

Staying Safe
Please take care when wandering about the main cities on your own, as pick pockets and purse-snatchers are common. Be safe and leave your passport, credit cards, traveller’s cheques and cash you don’t need in the hotel’s safety deposit box. Most Colombianos are honest and genuinely helpful and friendly, but be safe and enjoy the city!
Travel insurance is compulsory in order to participate in any G Adventures tour. Minimum coverage is US$200,000. Some tours may include activities where extra coverage is required. We can assist you in adding insurance or advising you on insurance group choices upon booking with Twister Travel.
Age Requirements
You must be 18 to travel unaccompanied on a G Adventures tour. For minors travelling with a guardian over 21 years old, the minimum age is 12.
